Occupational Therapist

​Description

Occupational Therapists oversee the rehabilitation department and operate patient-specific therapeutic devices to provide quality treatment. OTs exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making. They are expected to work collaboratively with all members of the health care team, including the medical staff and the physician. We are looking for seasoned professionals to join our team and become a valuable member of our well-established practice.


Responsibilities

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Understanding policies and regulations to provide a comfortable, clean, and safe clinical environment
  • Assessing patients and consulting with the physician; developing plans for care with patients and their family
  • Observing patient status and recommending changes in plan as appropriate
  • Documenting patient information for medical records
  • Using equipment as applicable to OT treatments; fabricating splints, braces, hand/wrist covers, etc. to support hand and upper extremity therapy
  • Educating patients and their family about home exercise programs
  • Serving as a staff resource on occupational therapy issues

Experience

  • Two years minimum working experience in a clinical setting

License/Certification

  • Current California OT license
  • Current CPR certification
