Nevada Wages Due Immediately for Employees in Nonworking Status
Effective July 1, 2023, when an employee is put on nonworking status, their earned yet unpaid wages are due and payable immediately. Nonworking status is when an employee is temporarily laid off but remains employed and may be called back to work at a future date. It doesn’t include an employee who is:
- Suspended pending an employment-related investigation;
- Suspended because of an employment-related disciplinary action;
- On call for available work; or
- Approved for leave.
